Schomandl's Versatile ANA 2700 Cancels RF Interference for Safe, Clean Wireless Readings

Greenville, NC (PRWEB) January 13, 2010 -- A new generation antenna and network analyzer - the ANA 2700 - is the best tool yet for safe and clean onsite testing of cellular and broadcast infrastructure. The instrument features an advanced interference system that ferrets out true readings from hostile RF clutter at broadcast and co-location antenna sites. Furthermore, the readings can be acquired quickly and safely at ground level.

The instrument is a product of German manufacturer Schomandl, a Kathrein Group company with six decades of experience manufacturing test equipment. Kathrein Group instruments are exclusively distributed in the western hemisphere by LBA Technology.

With a frequency range from 1 to 2700 MHz, the ANA 2700 will analyze cellular, the new WIMAX 4G band, broadcast and military wireless communication systems, plus avionics and microwave point-to-point radio. Its standard functions include VSWR, insertion loss and reflection coefficient measurements.

The antenna analyzer combines finely engineered hardware with a Windows-compatible software package called LOG 600. The unit can function as a download-upload link for diagnostic data and will print out plotted data in sophisticated formats.

Yet despite its capacity for complex analysis, the RF network analyzer is easy for a technician to operate and is comfortably at home in the field. The battery-powered modular unit weighs just 11 pounds and operates dependably across a temperature range of 65 degrees, starting below freezing.

The ANA 2700 is invaluable for testing new antennas and transmission lines, but will pay for itself in routine preventive maintenance. The RF network analyzer can replace more expensive VSWR equipment in such tasks as spotting seriously degraded, but still functioning, hardware, thus avoiding eventual infrastructure interruptions.
